SRS ALERT Support

iPhone

The iPhone application requires an iPhone iOS version 4 or later to operate properly.
The iPhone application requires that the user does not deactivate data roaming when traveling abroad. If data roaming has been deactivated, the service will only detect that the user has entered a new country when a data connection is established, for example, when using a Wi-Fi network.
If a user wishes to manually inform the system of his or her current location without enabling data, the user can press the ”send location” button available in the application’s menu. This will send a SMS with location information to SRS ALERT.

Android

The Android application automatically sends information to SRS ALERT when the user enters a new country. No other information is sent unless the user manually activates GPS tracking in the settings.
If the user has disabled data roaming, the application automatically sends one SMS in the background upon entering a new country. This is done in order to ensure that the correct safety information is provided to the user.
If the user chooses to activate GPS tracking, data roaming must be activated when traveling abroad. Alternatively, a data connection must be established over, for example, Wi-Fi.

Windows Phone

The Windows Phone application requires phone version 8 or later to operate properly.
The Windows Phone application requires that the user does not deactivate data roaming when traveling abroad. If data roaming has been deactivated, the service will only detect that the user enters a new country when a data connection is established, for example when using a Wi-Fi network.
If a user wishes to manually inform the system of her or his current location without enabling data, the user can press the ”send location” button available in the application’s menu. This will send a SMS with location information to SRS ALERT.

Blackberry

The Android application automatically sends information to SRS ALERT when the user enters a new country.
