Public course HEAT - 1+4 days

A unique public Travel Safety & Security offer meeting EU and Swedish Government specifications for HEAT training. For those travelling to and working in risk areas in all threat levels.

NGO, Government or Business Sector - the context may vary but the need for organisational Duty of Care and a more aware individual approach are the same.

About the course

This course aims to prepare you as an individual by giving you an increased ability to take control of your own safety & security situation before, during and after completing your assignments – to ”be your own Security Manager” no matter what context you perform in. Prevent unwanted situations as far as possible and mitigate the effects if they happen anyway.

Plan and prepare missions and specific situations

Follow up and take care of yourself after completed missions and specific situations

SRS is responsible for the HEAT and Travel Security training for a number of Swedish and international government authorities, media houses, private companies and NGOs travelling to and working in medium and high risk areas, and repressive states. The trainings are designed to meet the specifications laid down by the EU, government and organisational regulations and reinforced by SRS’ own extensive operational experience in areas like these.

This public course gives you as a employer the chance to prepare individual staff before sending them on assignments.

The course can be demanding and contains stressful parts but is conducted in a controlled and safe way by SRS’ highly experienced instructors.

The course is run in English.

Completing the course will give the individual a certificate that meets EU specifications for working in risk areas.

Theory and practice focusing on workplace application

Course design and content

The course is a Blended Learning design where individual online based theory is put into practical training face to face. During the theory online SRS’ instructors coach and assist every learner before meeting up for the practical part.

Theory online – 1 day over a period of 2 weeks in your own tempo.
Themes and content as per below using videos, texts, downloadable documents, and reflective tasks to prepare you for the practical part.
Practical training face to face – 4 days all together.
Cases and experience based situations focusing on decision making, hands-on practical skill training, and working on individual action plans for upcoming application.

How to apply

No previous experience or training needed.

The course is run in English.

The practical training takes place in Hagalund in Solna.
About 15 minutes from central Stockholm using public transportation.

The course needs at least 10 participants to run. Final decision will be taken 1 month before the theory part starts.

SRS can provide hotel stay at a walking distance from the training venue if needed. For a discounted price accommodation with dinner and breakfast can be arranged.

You or your employer send an email to training@srsgroup.se saying how many participants and if hotel is wanted.
We call you to confirm and send out detailed course instructions and information covering all the practical details.
Individual invites to the theory online two weeks before the practical part.

Keeping the course purpose and content in mind there will be some stressful and physical demanding parts depending on your personal status. But there is nothing that requires any physical standards above normal. Also, there are no demands for absolute skills levels to complete the course as personal insight and awareness of your strengths and challenges are the most important part.
